Doctrinal Statement of Eschatology.
Eschatology is the study of the last things. The central feature of Christian Eschatology is that it is Christ Centered.
I believe that human beings, men and women consist of physical and spiritual elements and I believe that physical death involves no loss of our immaterial consciousness because the soul of the redeemed goes immediately in the presence of God. (Revelation 6:9-11, Luke 23:43, 2 Corinthians5:8), and we see in Rev.6 the souls of those who were slain for the gospels sake conversing with the sovereign Lord. While the soul of the unrighteous enters Hades, a place of torment. (Luke 16:19-31) as we are told in the story of the rich man and Lazarus immediately there was physical death the rich man entered Hades, a place of Torment while Lazarus was carried to Abraham’s side. This separation of the dead, between the righteous and unrighteous will continue until the day of rapture. (1 Thessalonians 4:13-17) This initiates the first resurrection. (Revelation 20:4-6) The soul and the body of the righteous will be reunited to be glorified with our Lord. (Philippians 3:21, 1Corithians 15:35-44, 50-54).
I believe that in the end the righteous will have imperishable glorified bodies (Romans 8:10-11, 1Corithians 15:42-44) while the unrighteous souls will suffer and be eternally tormented. (Daniel 12:2, Revelation 20:15).
I believe that the souls of the unsaved are kept under punishment until the second resurrection (Luke 16:19-26, Revelation 20:13-15) when souls and resurrected bodies are united, then they shall appear at the great white throne and shall be cast into the lake of fire (Rev. 20: 11-15; Mathew 25:41-46), this means cut off from the life of God for ever, in other words eternal punishment and separation from God.
I also believe the righteous will be judged at the judgement seat of Christ, where they will receive rewards according to the works done while still alive (1 Cor. 3:12-15; 2 Cor. 5:9-10).
I believe that Jesus will return and rapture his saints in the air (John14:3; 2Thessalonians 2:1). All believers who have died prior to the rapture will be resurrected, and those believers who are still alive, will be caught up together with Christ instantly with transformed and glorious new bodies (1 Cor.15:51-53; 1 Thess. 4:3-18). Nobody knows the day or the hour of Jesus return, He will come back like a thief where no one knows the hour he will come. I believe Christ will return before the 7 year tribulation (1Thess.4:16; Titus 2:13) to translate his church from this earth (1Cor.15:51-53).
I believe that following the removal of the church from the earth (John 14:1-3; 1 Thess.4: 13-18) the righteous judgment of God will be poured out upon unbelieving world (Jeremiah 30:7; Daniel 9:27; 12:1). These judgement will be climaxed by the return of Christ in glory to the earth (Mathew 24:27; 2Thess.2:7-12), at that time the Old Testament saints and tribulation saints will be raised and the living will be judged (Dan.12:2- 3; Rev. 20:4-6).
I believe that after the tribulation period Christ will come back on earth to occupy the throne of David (Mathew 25:31, Luke1:31-33, Acts 1:10-11) and establish his Messianic kingdom for 1000years on earth (Rev.20:1-7). Meanwhile during this time the resurrected saints will reign with him over Israel and all the nations of the earth. (Daniel 7:17-22, Ezekiel 37:21-28). This reign will be preceded by the removal of the enemy Satan from the world, the overthrow false prophets and Antichrist (Rev. 20:1-7; Daniel 7:17-27).
I believe that the kingdom will be the fulfillment of God’s promise to Israel (Zachariah 8:1-17; Isaiah 65:17-27) so that Israel can be restored back to the land they forfeited through disobedience (Deuteronomy 28:15-68) The disobedience of Israel resulted on it being set aside temporarily, but through repentance, it will enter the land of blessing. (Jeremiah 31:31-34, Romans 11:25-29).
I believe that after a thousand years Satan will be released from his prison and will go out to deceive nations, in the four corners of the earth. (Revelations 20:7) Satan and his army will be devoured by fire from heaven (Revelation 20:9). Then Satan will be thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone. (Mathew 25:21, Revelation 20:10). Christ the judge of all humankind will resurrect and judge the great and small at the great white thrown judgement. (John 5:22)
I believe that the resurrection of unsaved people to judgement will be a physical resurrection (John 5:28-29 and they will therefore be committed to internal punishment to the lake of fire (Rev. 20:11-15).
I believe that after all these events God will replace the old created with a new one, (2 Peter 3:10) and establish a new Heaven and a new earth and the righteous will live in the presence of God forever (2Peter 3:13, Rev.22:5)
