If we link light bulbs in series, one after another, then as we add more light bulbs, the bulbs will
dim because the more light bulbs there are, the harder it is for the current to flow because the battery pushes the current through every light bulb. So if there was more light bulbs there would be more resistance making it hard for the current to pass through making the light bulbs dimmer. If we link light bulbs in parallel, one after another, then as we add more light bulbs, the bulbs will be brighter because adding more bulbs in parallel increases current and decreases the resistance. As well as when you have the light bulbs connected in series you have half the voltage drop across each of the bulbs. So in parallel the current through each of the light bulbs is twice as high as when they are in series.
