In “Fairy Tales and a Dose of Reality”, Catherine Orenstein. Orenstein approaches the meaning of fairy tale in a gruesome manner explaining that fairy tales haven’t always been sweet but bitter because authors based their stories on elite marriages in the 17th century and not make-believe fantasy to please the audience. She uses strong and negative words like jealousy, greed, murder to call people to the harsh truth that exist in human nature. She uses these words call people to the realisation that perfect marriages, as portrayed by reality television is unachievable because reality tv manipulates and exploits the fairy tale into something far from reality.
