In Obama’s speech “A More Perfect Union” he emphasize the importance of unity among Americans. He wants people to overlook their ethnic background and come together as one. Even though we come from different countries he wants us to become one strong nation. In his speech he mentions racial inequality has been part of American history for many years which it has because the government continues to allow it to happen.
Racial inequality is the disparity of an opportunity or treatment that occurs in someone’s race. In the speech he gave in Philadelphia there was racism because he was going to be the first African American president. During his campaign there was racial tension between the people who could and could not vote. His speech then goes on to talk about Reverend Wright point of view. Reverend Wright comments that racism need to come together in order to solve a monumental problem. Obama communicate to the public
