Is it surprising to you that heart disease is the current leading cause of death in the United States?
It is not surprising to me that heart disease is the current leading cause of death in the United States because we as a society eat unhealthy food more compared to healthy food. Combining a person everyday life such as working full time, attending school full time and family problems can all lead to heart disease because combining all that can be very stressful.
What are some of the ways society, and pressures in society, might contribute to individuals getting heart disease?
Some of the ways are stress, other health problems and obesity can increase the chances of getting heart disease. Those that are employed that have health problems hit the working class harder (Henslin, 2013).
Do you think the environment of those in a lower social class contributes to more mental illness?
I do think the environment of those in a lower social class contribute to more mental illness because people that are lower class tends to have way more problems that come with poverty such as income, food, education, employment and proper healthcare.
Explain. What, if anything, can human services professionals do about this?
Human service professional can help by finding affordable resources for their clients which may lower the stress level for those that are in poverty.  Human services professional can help by giving them the proper medical attention that is needed.
