Margo was known to be very mysterious and adventurous. This shown through the chapters. Margo has a night out with Quinton and then the next day she goes missing. She leaves Q little notes trying to figure out where she can be. (evidence) “Margo was a miracle. She was an adventure. She was a fine and precious thing. She was a girl.” Quentin later realizes Margo as her true self. He then see’s Margo’s different sides. In the text it states “That’s always seemed so ridiculous to me, that people would want to be around someone because they’re pretty.” This shows that Q didn’t just want to hangout with her because she was pretty he wanted to hang out with her because of her personality and how she is different from other girls.
3. The theme of the book is that Q thought Margo was this type of person he imagined but he was wrong about that. He imagined her being this amazing adventurous girl. But she was so much more than that. After discovering the notes one by one he was finally realizing that she was a depressed and lonely girl. “The truth is that whenever i went to the top of the SunTrust building, I really didn’t look down and think about how everything was made of paper. I looked down and thought how i was made out of paper. I was a flimsy-foldable person, not everyone else. And here’s the thing about it, people love a thought of a paper girl.” pg 293 This quote shows that Margo can’t even be herself around other people. The paper is a fake person. When Margo was in Orlando Florida she said most of the people there were paper which meant they were fake.
