My contract includes; job location, job duration, job description, pay rate, hours, holidays, notice period, confidentiality and data protection and training.
Job location is, at it sounds, the place of my employment and job duration is the timespan that I am legally bound to my job. Job description is an outline of my roles and responsibilities as a nursery practitioner. Pay rate is how much I get paid for my work as well as how often and what method I will get paid. Hours tells me what time I need to be at work and for how long and holidays tells me how much leave I am entitled to as well as what my rights are regarding sick leave and parental leave.
Notice period tells me how much notice I need to give my employer if I want to leave and how I will be told to leave should I be dismissed from my work. Confidentiality tells me that the details my employer holds of me will stay confidential and that my data will be protected. I must also practice Data protection in relation to the information I know regarding the children in my care and the adults I work with.
Training tells me that I will need to go for training every so often and also tells me requirements I need to be able to work in the early years settings e.g. current first aid certificate, safeguarding awareness training and DBS.
Some school policies are also part of the terms and conditions of my employment and these include the health and safety policy, mobile phone policy and behaviour management policy.
