Our experiment will deal with the fermentation of yeast in different conditions. With a balloon, we could create an anaerobic environment in which the yeast will ferment. The yeast and sucrose would be mixed, and put in test tubes. One test tube would be placed in a beaker of boiling water and the other in a beaker of ice cubes. They would then be kept aside for 10 to 20 minutes for fermentation to occur. We will measure the volume of the yeast inside the test tubes with the provided ruler. The results would show whether yeast ferments better in a warm moist environment or in a cold one.
