“The Lottery” by Shirley Jackson and “The Rocking-Horse Winner” by D.H. Lawrence there was underlying morals to see throughout these two stories. Some would have had to read them until the very end in order to see what those morals were. On the other hand, you may be able to have seen that it was coming half way through the story line. Both of these authors show through fiction just how much greed can completely destroy a family and how death can happen if you choose luck over love.
“The Lottery” is a very simple story that is set in a small town. Every year in this town, someone is stoned to death just so the town can have their harvest.
