There are many paranormal beliefs such as beliefs in astrology, UFOs, monsters, ghosts, witchcrafts, aliens, life on other planets which are common among people and they claimed that they have sighted them. The most common paranormal belief is belief in astrology. The word astrology means “knowledge of stars”, it is the study of the position of the stars and planets in the sky which gives information about the past, present and future of the individual (Crane, n.d). There is difference between astrology and astronomy. Astronomy is the science which studies that everything which is present outside of the earth’s atmosphere, such as galaxies, stars, planets etc; and the relationship and properties of those outer space bodies. There studies are based on research and observations. While astrology is the belief that the way the events occur on the earth is affected by the positioning of the stars and planets. According to Astrology(2010) the earliest known continuation of astrology dates back to Babylon, 1645 BC. Chinese were the first who initiated the concept of astrology interpretation(Watson, 2012). The most common form of horoscope is the Zodiac horoscope which is divided into 12 signs which are: Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn. Astrology is considered as a paranormal belief because there is no proof that provide evidence on how it works. The reason for the popularity of the astrology is that people believe that it will provide a glimpse of the future to them and will help them in there hard times.
